AmpThink is excited to announce that Rick Cruz has joined AmpThink as Engineering Manager. Rick will assume responsibility for AmpThink’s team of Technology Architects, Field Engineers, Network Support Specialists, and Drafting/BIM resources. In addition to managing the Engineering Team, Rick’s comprehensive RF experience will augment AmpThink’s RF engineering capabilities in both the licensed and unlicensed markets. Rick joins AmpThink along with Robare Pruyn who will assume the role of Technology Architect for packetized voice and video solutions, and Adam Haskin who will assume the role of Technology Architect for venue systems.
Prior to joining AmpThink, Rick was a Wi-Fi Network Architect and RF Engineer at Comcast where Rick collaborated with AmpThink on the delivery of high-density Wi-Fi networks at Sun Trust Park – home of the Atlanta Braves, Little Caesar’s Arena – home of the Detroit Red Wings and Pistons, and State Farm Arena – home of the Atlanta Hawks. While at Comcast, Rick was tasked with supervising the AmpThink engineering teams responsible for designing, implementing and optimizing these venues. By bringing Rick on board, AmpThink adds a resource that understands AmpThink’s processes and work products and will integrate quickly into the AmpThink team. While at Comcast Rick also led the deployment of Wi-Fi managed network solutions for several University residential housing entities and mass transit systems.
“Rick’s experience working with AmpThink will allow him to immediately contribute to the delivery of existing projects,” said Neil MacRaild, AmpThink’s Chief Operating Officer. “And as a former customer, Rick brings ideas about how we can improve our customer facing work product and communications, key insights for our growing company.”
Prior to Rick’s work at Comcast, Rick was the President of Ronin Technology Partners, a Technology Consulting company he co-founded in 2000. His wireless technology consulting experience spans over 25 years with executive leadership positions at Ameritech, Mobile Systems International, and TWS. In those roles, he provided technical leadership relating to the design, engineering, and implementation of complex wireless networks in the cellular and microwave market.
