Arbitech Partner to Pursue New Venture

Arbitech, LLC announced today that one of its partners, William Poovey, is pursuing a venture with Ingram Micro, the world’s largest distributor of technology products, to offer products sourced from the secondary market to Ingram Micro customers.

“This is a significant industry development,” said Arbitech Chairman and CEO Torin Pavia. “To have an Arbitech partner pursuing a venture with Ingram Micro confirms the Arbitech business model. The secondary market is essential for distributors and resellers to compete effectively and support their customers.”

“This could be a big step forward for the secondary market,” agreed Jim Binford, Arbitech’s President and COO. “We view it as one more indication that Tier One manufacturers and their distribution partners are embracing the secondary market, which Arbitech was instrumental in building over the past ten years.”

Mr. Poovey is a partner in Arbitech via his corporation The Whistler Group. The venture that Mr. Poovey is pursuing with Ingram Micro involves a startup company, Sourcing Solutions, LLC, which intends to provide discontinued technology products exclusively to Ingram Micro for resale to Ingram Micro customers. Mr. Poovey previously held several positions within Arbitech, most recently serving as a director and sales executive.
