DSS to Host Educational Pavilion Panel Session at HIMSS on Open Source Technology

DSS, Inc., a leading provider of software, integration, installation, project management, training, support and development of VistA, will be hosting an educational panel session on the benefits and importance of open source technology in healthcare at the HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition in Atlanta.

The session will highlight the different viewpoints of industry thought leaders, who include Alesha Adamson, director, open source solutions – healthcare for Misys; William (Bill) C. Grosso, president of Spectron Corp.; and Skip McGaughey, executive director of Open Health Tools. These individuals who bring extensive experience in the healthcare IT industry and in working with open source technology will discuss their thoughts on open source electronic health records (EHRs), current industry trends, how these EHRs will meet meaningful use standards and support the ARRA, and the major benefits of the technology that sets it apart from other commercial EHRs.

“As a provider of open source EHRs and supporting technology and services, we feel it is imperative to educate healthcare organizations on the importance and benefits of open source applications so that they better understand how it might fit their organization’s unique needs,” said Mark Byers, president and CEO of DSS, Inc. “We look forward to sharing Alesha, Bill and Skip’s expertise with HIMSS attendees and creating an interactive discussion around open source EHRs.”
