Verizon FiOS approached Richmond-based full-service digital marketing agency, Create Digital, with a digital campaign need: capitalize on their partnership with FOX and summer blockbuster film Prometheus.
“The partnership between Verizon and FOX hit the mark in validating why users would want to engage with these brands via social,” Dave Perry, account lead at Create Digital said.
“It allowed two brands, that have a growing social presence, to provide exceptional and exclusive content for their users and fans.”
Social media journal, Mashable, touted the partnership on May 15 before exclusive video content was streamed on FiOS’ Facebook page.
On May 16, Verizon FiOS released a clip, edited by director Ridley Scott entitled “Quiet Eye,” that was posted exclusively for 24 hours on Facebook. Create Digital was instrumental in the execution of a live Twitter chat with Damon Lindelof.
Create Digital strategically planned the FiOS-FOX partnership with the end result in mind, according to Perry.
“We asked ourselves ‘when the partnership is over, what do we want to have accomplished – be it increased fans, fan engagement, and so on.’ We knew that the partnership made sense from a community perspective and to Verizon’s fans.”
“Lastly, we identified the metrics for success and began planning from there.”
Prometheus‘ digital campaign generated a 25 percent increase in Verizon FiOS’ social fan base.
The campaign was selected as just one of three finalists for the OMMA Awards for OMMA Awards for Online Advertising Creativity for an Integrated Online Campaign in the Entertainment: Movies category.
