The 3D Printing Revolution Has Begun

The next big technological advancement that has the potential to change…. well everything, is the 3D printer. 3D printers in case you haven’t seen the numerous news reports and articles, allow a person to print in 3D from a software based 3D program. This 3D representation is generally created using CAD software in exactly the same way as you would render a 3D model for design purposes only now you can print the 3D model and have a physical 3D version as well as software based 3D design. There are dedicated pieces of 3D modelling software already available on the market, although big companies such as Google and Apple to name but a few, are developing ways to use phones and tablets to scan 3D objects so that they can then be printed, using a 3D printer.

3D printing is in its early stages of development, all be it already in use by many academics, engineers and even the RAF to make plane parts. This is a proven technology that will revolutionise the manufacturing industry as well as many others including schools and educational facilities as people start to realise the true potential and benefits of 3d printing.

At the moment there are not too many 3D printers available on the market. There is however one leading brand “Cubify” who provide a range of aesthetically beautiful 3D printers. These Cubify 3D printers are able to print in a range of vibrant colours using either ABS and PLA plastics to achieve amazing designs in relatively short periods of time. These 3D printers are leading the field and are also now available for the everyday person to buy as they work straight from the box and are child friendly.

3D printing is set to change the world and is continually evolving and will become the main stream very quickly, after all who hasn’t ever wanted a real life size replica of themselves, the perfect mini me.
