Online Backup provider IBackup now SSAE 16 Approved

IBackup, a leading cloud storage and online backup provider, today announced that it is now SSAE 16 certified. IBackup is fully compliant and up-to-date with the most recent changes to the reporting standards of the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

IBackup, approved previously by the older SAS 70 audit, passed the newer SSAE 16 audit, receiving approval that their infrastructure falls within accordance of the new standards. SSAE 16 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements 16) is a regulation that controls how service companies report their compliance controls. Per the new requirements, IBackup can provide written assertion to auditors that their service descriptions appropriately and accurately depict their organizational systems.

SSAE 16 covers internal procedures such as server monitoring, maintenance, and redundancy. It also addresses the overall health and structure of the company. “Data security and integrity is especially important to our customers. Getting the SSAE 16 certification assures our customers that their data is stored securely within a stable, fully compliant company,” says Shane Bingham, Business Development Coordinator for IBackup.

IBackup can also assist companies within the medical, accounting, and legal professions to comply with industry specific regulations in order to avoid penalties as well as businesses governed by the HIPAA, SOX, GLBA, SEC / NASD mandates in order to maintain complete backup records of their electronic business transactions while continuing to fully comply with industry standards.
