Red Giant Animated Movie NIKO: JOURNEY TO MAGIKA To Premiere On Hulu

Red Giant Entertainment Inc. (OTC: REDG), an innovative Intellectual Property company specializing in high quality characters and content for use in a variety of media and entertainment, is happy to announce the Company’s animated feature film NIKO: JOURNEY TO MAGIKA is scheduled for release December 12, 2014 exclusively on Hulu.

NIKO: JOURNEY TO MAGIKA chronicles a young boy’s hair-raising adventures in a fantastical land of myths and monsters on a search for his kidnapped grandparents. This full-length all-ages fantasy film was rendered in a colorful mix of traditional hand-drawn animation and computer-generated imagery. The film’s Hulu premiere is in anticipation of the MAGIKA tie-in comic serial’s debut in GIANT-SIZE ADVENTURE, Red Giant’s free double-sized ad-supported comic book boasting a monthly circulation of 1 million copies.

Hulu, a joint venture of NBC Universal, News Corp. and Disney, is an ad-supported streaming video service that offers a vast selection of popular TV shows and movies. Since 2008, more than 1,650 individual advertisers have leveraged the Hulu service to promote their product or service. While Hulu can be accessed for free from any computer Web browser, those with a Hulu Plus subscription can also view Hulu on connected TVs, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, set-top boxes, mobile phones, tablets and more.

“This has been a long time in coming, but it marks the beginning of our ‘Direct-to-digital’ initiative line of animations and movies,” explained Red Giant CEO, Benny Powell. “The Hulu platform provides revenue from advertising based on the traffic generated by our content. This is the backbone of our business model, and one we have extensive ability to generate and control. With the traffic from our Web sites and marketing experience, we feel strongly that this will become a strong revenue stream for us quickly.”

The Hulu deal was brokered by Inception Media Group, the worldwide sales agent for NIKO: JOURNEY TO MAGIKA. Inception is also in the process of selling the film in all territories through its foreign sales subsidiary Inception Film Partners.

NIKO: JOURNEY TO MAGIKA is presented by Red Giant, Glass House Graphics and Cutting Edge Productions. The film was produced by David Campiti and executive produced by Jessie Lasaten, Benny Powell, Isen Robbins and Aimee Schoof. Directed by Robert Quilao, the film’s screenplay was written by The New York Times bestselling author David Lawrence, Temi Abad and Eric Cabahug. The film made its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Multi-award-winning composer and arranger Jessie Lasaten wrote the musical score for the film and recorded it with a live orchestra with the help of the FILharmoniKA, conducted by Gerard Salonga. Internationally-renowned performer Lea Salonga — best known to American audiences as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s ALADDIN — sang an international version the movie’s theme song “Fly” for the soundtrack.
