NEC Launches App Store for Apivio’s Android Desktop Phones

Apivio Systems Inc. (“Apivio” or the “Company”) (TSX VENTURE:APV) today announced that its channel partner NEC Corporation of America (“NEC”) has launched an online application store (“App Store”) for Apivio’s Monet Series of Android-based VoIP enterprise video phones.

“This is an important milestone in the evolution of the UT880,” said Rob Bakshi, Apivio’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “NEC’s App Store will facilitate the delivery of on demand and push software allowing the UT880 to be alive, evolving and always current with technology and users’ needs.”

Apivio and NEC have partnered since 2014 to sell the UT880 Android enterprise VoIP phone into the North American market. NEC has committed to selling 20,000 UT880 phones and to date Apivio has shipped 10,000 units to NEC.
