PHASE 2 Unaffected by Island-wide Power Outage

PHASE 2 International ( www.phase2.com ), a premier Software as a Service provider based in Hawaii, reported that the Oahu island-wide power outage that occurred on December 27th did not affect any of its operations or customers. The widespread power issues lasted for over 14 hours and severed commercial power to every home and business, leaving over 900,000 people in the dark. This included President-elect Barack Obama and his family who are visiting the island for vacation prior to his official inauguration on January 20th.

“It is times like these that our significant investment in facilities and infrastructure really pays off,” said Kevin Doherty, CEO of PHASE 2. “The initial power fluctuations raised some concerns. The engineering team analyzed the management systems, and no glitches were detected as the power subsystems switched over. We received no reports from customers who had trouble accessing their data during this time.”
