Articulate Communications Inc., a PR firm that helps technology and business services companies achieve their corporate goals through results-oriented, targeted strategic communications, today announced that it has expanded to include companies focused on the business-to-industry (B2I) space. In support of this expansion, Sharon Tolpin, a 15-year marketing and public relations industry veteran and expert in the technology and digital media spaces, has been appointed senior vice president. The agency also announced the promotion of Kate Corcoran, who has been with Articulate since 2006, to account supervisor.
Articulate is a thriving, established boutique agency with a focus on technology, business services and emerging industries. During the past year, the firm’s footprint has expanded beyond its traditional business-to-business (B2B) technology and services strengths into B2I – companies that target specific vertical industries, including biotech, gaming, environmental, education and energy.
Some of Articulate’s B2I clients include:
— StrionAir: A provider of an energy-efficient, germicidal air-purification system that effectively captures airborne particles, removing allergens and killing pathogens.
— CDC Games: A market leader in online and mobile games in China with more than 120 million registered users.
— RecycleBank: A market-driven rewards program that motivates people to recycle by providing communities with a proven, cost-effective business solution to the environmental problem of recycling participation.
Tolpin brings a wealth of experience in directing the public relations and marketing communications activities of start-ups and leading international technology companies. Having worked in various industries, including enterprise software, Internet media, identity management, security, online advertising and VoIP, Tolpin’s focus will be to increase clients’ visibility in the marketplace, build audiences and drive revenue with digital media outlets, including online video, social media and online advertising.
Tolpin joins Articulate from Critical Mention, a real-time broadcast monitoring and video syndication platform, where she acted as vice president of marketing and communications. Prior to this, Tolpin was vice president of corporate communications at V-Secure Technologies, an intrusion-prevention software provider, which was sold to Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR) in 2005. She also held management positions at Business Layers, Mercury Interactive, Deltathree and Solbright.
Newly appointed Account Supervisor Kate Corcoran joins the Articulate management team after two highly successful years at the company. Corcoran utilizes her unique background in both public relations and broadcasting with her key clients, including RecycleBank, CDC Games and CDC Software (NASDAQ: CHINA), a provider of enterprise software applications and business services. Prior to Articulate, Corcoran worked for Strauss Radio Strategies.
“Sharon is bringing her vast industry experience and unprecedented knowledge of the emerging online media markets to Articulate,” said Laura Grimmer, founder and CEO, Articulate Communications. “Our management team, which consists of new hires like Sharon and employees promoted from within like Kate, is a reflection of Articulate as a whole – tech-savvy, innovative, experienced and results-oriented.”
This week, Tolpin will join Erick Schonfeld, co-editor of TechCrunch.com, at The Cornell Club of New York to discuss new digital media outlets and how best to engage them from a marketing and public relations perspective. The “Engaging the Media in a Brave New World” panel will take place on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. EST.
