The Wireless Foundation Redesigns Website

The Wireless Foundation announced its redesigned website (www.wirelessfoundation.org) as part of its continued commitment to promoting the use of wireless technology to address various issues in society. The updated website provides consumers with easy-to-use information on how wireless products and services benefit Americans through education, health, safety and environment. In addition, non-profit organizations can submit their applications for grants to improve their communities through innovative programs that use wireless technology online.

“The Wireless Foundation and its updated website highlight some of the advantages wireless products and services provide Americans every day. With the redesign, we’ve made it easier for organizations to apply for grants and consumers to educate themselves about the various programs we support,” said Steve Largent, president of The Wireless Foundation and president and CEO of CTIA-The Wireless Association®.

Since 1991, The Wireless Foundation has developed and participated in a number of programs and initiatives that are innovative users of wireless technology. This includes text4baby, a free mobile educational service that sends text messages to new and expecting moms to promote the birth of healthy babies; “Be Smart. Be Fair. Be Safe: Responsible Wireless Use,” a national education campaign that equips parents and caregivers with the necessary materials and tools so that kids use their wireless devices responsibly; and Wireless AMBER Alerts™, a free text message service so wireless subscribers can help law enforcement search for abducted children.

The Wireless Foundation is a non-profit organization that was formed by member companies of CTIA-The Wireless Association® in 1991. The Foundation oversees a number of programs designed to put wireless technology to work addressing the challenges of society. www.wirelessfoundation.org
