DAP Technologies to Offer AirWatch Mobile Device Management on Its Rugged Mobile Computers

DAP Technologies today announced that it will embed AirWatch’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) software on its rugged handheld and tablet computers for enterprise and industrial applications. DAP customers will receive a free, one-year subscription to the MDM solution, which enables organizations to remotely secure, monitor, manage and support all mobile devices. Beginning in October, DAP’s M9000 tablets, M1000 handhelds and M2000 series handhelds will be the first products to ship with MDM.

Once activated, AirWatch’s multi-tenant architecture provides a single, real-time, integrated view of all deployed mobile devices, leading to reduced device downtime, improved user support experience and faster adoption rates of both the device and enterprise mobile apps. The Web-based remote management of DAP’s computers also allows for diagnostics, provisioning, software updates, GPS asset tracking, mapping and more. If the device is lost or stolen, data can be remotely wiped from the device, ensuring the security of proprietary and sensitive customer information.

“We selected AirWatch because of its robust, multi-tenant architecture and leadership position in mobile security and MDM,” said Khalid Kidari, DAP’s director of product management and marketing. “MDM simplifies enterprise mobility for our customers by giving them the tools to support field employees, track and protect assets, and update software, regardless of location.”

“We are very pleased with DAP’s decision to provide our MDM solution to their customers,” said Ken Whelan, Sales, AirWatch. “DAP recognizes that it is key for its customers, particularly those in field service, to have the ability to remotely troubleshoot and restore function to a device, automatically push software updates, and pinpoint the location of a device. This in turn, helps them maximize their rugged devices by decreasing downtime and operating more efficiently.”
