The event took place at the Capitol Theatre in Offenbach near Frankfurt, Germany.
The aim of the event, hosted by COMPUTERWOCHE, one of Germany’s leading IT magazines, is to award those companies with the best cloud offerings and projects, as well as highlight innovators in the market.
Participating companies were judged by a panel of experts in IT, science, new media, telecommunications and social media, as well as by the audience. Each company was given only six minutes for their presentation.
Speaking on behalf of Zendesk was Bjoern Bauer, head of customer care for CoreMedia, and Nils Rebehn, account manager for Zendesk DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). The duo impressed panel members and the audience by submitting and resolving a support query, in real-time, during their presentation.
Also impressive, was CoreMedia’s mention of how it took the company only five minutes to have their Zendesk up and running.
“Basically we went online, entered the name of our help desk, pointed our email to it, logged on and we were up and running. We were able to make any configurations as we went and didn’t need programmer to do it,” Bauer said. “The other benefit is that because the costs are shared across thousands of companies, it’s really inexpensive. This meant that we were able to give access to everyone in our company, so we now have a whole company view of customer care and many hands helping out.”
In the category “Software as a Service – Private Cloud,” Zendesk competed alongside Pervasive, Brainloop AG, MATERNA GmbH, and Wassermann AG to win the “Best in Cloud” Award 2011.
“We at Zendesk are very grateful to receive this prestigious award,” said Matt Price, Zendesk’s General Manager, EMEA, while accepting the award. “It is a great honor to be recognized along side other visionary and innovative cloud companies.”
