The WunderLand Group (www.wunderlandgroup.com), a recruiting and staffing firm, was voted Best Service Provider to the tech community during the first annual Moxie Awards, which took place June 21, 2012 at the Park West Theater in Chicago. NBC5 news taped the ceremony and a short video of WunderLand receiving their award can be found here.
Over 70,000 votes were cast, and 800 attendees cheered Mayor Rahm Emanuel as he opened the event saying, “Chicago will be a partner, not a problem,” in stimulating the city’s emergent tech scene. “I want [the city] to be known as the most friendly for startup companies to build, succeed and start companies. I want this to be the digital capital of the country.”
The venue was filled with an eclectic mix of venture capitalists (like J.B. Pritzker of New World Ventures), student entrepreneurs (such as Moxie Award winner GrooveBug), tech industry veterans (like Matt Moog of Viewpoints), and representatives of all the nominated companies. The list of all winners can be found here.
The WunderLand Group is headquartered in Chicago and has offices in San Francisco, New Jersey, New York, and soon in Austin, TX. Founded in 2009 by staffing veterans Judi Wunderlich and Brian Sauerland, who both previously worked as designers in the creative industry before they moved into recruiting, their vision was to mindfully build a recruiting company that inspires loyalty, encourages adaptability, utilizes current technology, and focuses on service. Today the 22 people in WunderLand recruit candidates for jobs in web and mobile design and development, web content and copywriting, advertising, marketing, and graphic design.
WunderLand runs two Meetup groups, one in Chicago and one in San Francisco, and hosts free learning and networking events for the digital tech community.
