LG Electronics USA Names New President

William Cho, a 26-year veteran of LG Electronics, has been named President of LG Electronics USA. He succeeds Wayne Park, who has been promoted to Global Sales & Marketing Officer, LG Electronics.

Cho, most recently the senior executive responsible for LG’s global residential air conditioning business for the past two years, has extensive management experience across all business units around the world.

He served as President of LG Australia and President of LG Canada, as well as held key sales roles in the United States, among his various positions over the years. He joined LG in 1987 after earning his engineering degree from Busan University and his business degree from the Yonsei University graduate school in Korea.

In addition to overall responsibility for LG Electronics activities across all business units in the United States, Cho will lead the LG Electronics USA Home Entertainment business. In this role, he succeeds Jay Vandenbree, who is retiring at year-end, capping a stellar three-decade career in consumer electronics. Vandenbree will provide ongoing support in an advisory capacity to LG Electronics USA through the first quarter of 2014.

Park assumes the new Global Sales & Marketing Officer position after serving since January 2011 as President of LG Electronics USA, leading the company’s growth in the United States. Previously, he led sales and marketing for LG Electronics in the Korean market. Among other high profile positions, he also served as President of LG Canada and Vice President of Zenith Electronics LLC. Park joined LG in 1982 after earning his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
